Project Description

Design brief

Brown & White Opticians was established in 1929. When we were approached by Mr. Martin White they had 4 practices. All of them were in need of a refit.

Mr. White wanted to retain the classic and warm feel of the practices.
But on the other hand, he wanted to project to the public that his practices are equipped with state-of-the-art instruments and are embracing new technologies.

Also, he wanted us to design, produce and fit the units to all of his
practices so they had the same recognisable corporate look and feel.

Before

Design Challenges

Same practices are staying in the same premises while some are moving into new ones.
And in the future, Mr. White’s intention is to open a few more.

Solutions

To visit all the practices to get an idea of the space we were dealing with.

We decided to have smaller base units instead of classic wall-to-wall fitted units as this would not have distinguished his practices from other opticians or have created a unique appearance. Also, the display panels are not just square ones but are LED RGB lit. The other unique features are corner units and a double-sided dispensing desk.

As a result of our work we have fitted all Brown & White Opticians premises
(5 practices so far).
